
Natalia Tukhareli is the librarian at the Rouge Valley Health System in Toronto. She holds A PhD in Linguistics and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science. Her professional experience includes service in libraries and non-profit organizations, teaching in post-secondary institutions, and extensive scholarly research in various fields of the humanities and social sciences. Over the past six years, Natalia has been actively involved in bibliotherapy. She has piloted a bibliotherapy program for African children and women living with HIV/AIDS, facilitated shared reading groups for marginalized populations in Toronto, and developed an innovative “Bibliotherapy for Staff” program for the Rouge Valley Hospital staff. Her scholarly manuscript “Healing through books: The evolution and diversification of bibliotherapy” was published in 2014.
