In her role as Special Projects Officer at the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN), Kim identifies and develops new and existing initiatives in the academic library space, and works closely with member institutions and other stakeholders to coordinate research projects and related initiatives in the academic library space. Recent projects include analyzing scholarly journal usage at a national level, and developing a toolkit to increase awareness about issues in scholarly communication.

Prior to joining CRKN, Kim was the Data Librarian at the Martin Prosperity Institute (MPI), Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Through her work at the MPI, Kim co-authored “So Much More: The Economic Impact of Toronto Public Library on the City of Toronto,” published in 2013 and the first library economic impact study of its kind in Canada. As a consultant, she continues to work with public libraries across Canada to extend this methodology. She is active in several professional associations including OLA, and she is in her final year of serving on the SLA Board of Directors.

Kim earned her M.L.S. (Library Science) from the University of Toronto, and a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Waterloo
