Never be afraid to fail. Failure is part of the path to improvement. If you never fail in life, that means that you aren’t trying anything new. Justin is a grade 6/7 teacher at Ardagh Bluffs Public School. He is a huge advocate of the inquiry process for learning. Justin strives to change the culture of school to divert away from a collection of individuals struggling to understand concepts independently, to that of a group mind that collaborates and uses their combined intelligence to solve problems. This can take the form of students helping teachers implement technology in their classrooms, to intermediate students working along with primary students on scaffolded challenges. Mutual respect and open discussion is the key to handling the rapid changes we are seeing in education today. That, and not being afraid to fail.
