Jessica feels like she has the best job in the world. She has been a teacher-librarian with Upper Grand for 10 years. Her involvements have included participating on the Blue Spruce and Silver Birch Selection Committees, speaking at OLA SuperConference and the UGDSB Learning Fair, serving on the UGDSB Teacher-Librarian Executive, and taking her IICTI Specialist. Jessica’s current passions in her library learning commons are makerspaces, literature, inquiry-based learning, collaboration, and media literacy. Last year, Jessica was part of a joint project between TALCO and OSLA to augment the LNS monograph #24: Getting Started with Student Inquiry to include a third set of examples about the role of the teacher-librarian in supporting the student and classroom educator in the curriculum-based student inquiry process. The finished project, which includes a print poster and online graphic with hyperlinks to supporting online resources, is appropriate for classroom teachers and teacher-librarians working with students in grades 1-8.
