Helen Kula joined the University of Toronto Mississauga Library as the Librarian, Institute for Management and Innovation in December 2013. She was previously employed as a University of Toronto Libraries cross-appointment to MaRS Discovery District, Canada’s largest innovation centre. At MaRS, she launched MaRS’ market intelligence service for startups and later served as Data Product Manager with MaRS Data Catalyst.
Helen is an iSchool graduate and holds a MA in English and BA in English and French. She was a lead organizer of the world’s first Startup Weekend for libraries and continues to work with startups in her current role. Helen is a passionate about connecting startups and libraries and an advocate for applying startup thinking and tools in library settings.
