Carole was born and grew up in Toronto where she attended the University of Toronto, majoring in History. After her marriage, she and her husband moved to Oakville where as a young mother, she began working in the library at Appleby College where her husband was a teacher.
In 1990 they moved to Collingwood where Carole joined the staff of the Collingwood Public Library, working in various positions until May of 2007 when she took over the Local History and Genealogy Department of the library. With her love of history, this was a natural fit. She has also been tracing her own family roots for most of her adult life and it was a natural extension to help others research their family history.
Genealogy and gardening are her two passions – they’re all about roots!
