Description:

Explore the skills required to be able to identify, prioritize and meet community needs. This session will draw on research from Ontario and the UK to demonstrate that library workers need a completely new skillset if they are going to deliver community-led and needs based library services.

Outcomes:
– Learn best practices from Canada and the UK
– Become aware of the skills required for effective community librarianship, including empathy and relationship building.
