Researchers understand how to manage their data at different stages of the research life cycle and spend hours collecting, analyzing and disseminating their data. However, they may not always be sure what to do with their data once their project is finished. Some of the factors researchers have to keep in mind when considering data preservation are their ethical, legal and commercial obligations, as well as the importance of following their research data management plan.
In this presentation, we look at what to do with your data at the end of your research life cycle. We will be using research from an oral history project as a case study for research data management. We will walk you through the research life cycle, with an emphasis on the process of depositing the data into a Dataverse repository, thus opening it for the world to see and use for their own research.
