Job hunting can be overwhelming for new professionals. Streamlining your professional development strategies can reduce stress and filter out noise to allow you to focus on the values and goals that really matter to you. This session will cover topics like imposter syndrome, burnout and mental health in the context of the job hunt, while helping you figure out how to move forward. Two recent graduates working in different areas of the information profession will share their personal stories and practical strategies for getting through this chapter of your career with panache and a paycheque.

During this session, participants will begin to create a toolkit tailored to their own professional development. Attendees are encouraged to bring a copy of their CV.

Outcomes:
– Identify and organize existing skill-sets, goals, and career values
– Create concrete strategies for identifying, applying for, and interviewing for jobs in a competitive market
– Create a personalized toolkit with priorities, skills, contact lists, and next steps for their own career development
