Description:

In 2012, we began investigating faculty knowledge and perceptions of impact metrics and altmetrics. Finally, in 2016, we submitted our findings for publication. Balancing the load of research with liaison and other duties can be very challenging. After 4 years, we are still speaking to each other politely and have learned a great deal about our faculty, ourselves and our research practice. In this talk, we will reveal our findings from our research project and expose the messiness of being a working academic librarian and an active researcher.

Outcomes:
– Learn about tenured faculty knowledge and perceptions of impact metrics and altmetrics
– Explore struggles (and solutions) for balancing research and librarian professional practice
