Description:

Come find out why library professionals from Canada and across United States are adopting the Harwood approach in libraries of all types – urban to rural, public, academic and schools. This interactive session will begin with Cheryl Gorman and Susan Taylor Simpson providing an overview of this comprehensive and practical approach to community engagement and change. In this session you will experience one of the Harwood tools that you can use right away in a community of any type. Cara Pryor and Nancy Kranich will then share their experience using the Harwood approach and the impact it has made in their libraries – from securing new staff resources and partners to gaining community buy in for library initiatives. The Harwood approach has a proven track record in shifting the public perception about the role libraries can play in their local, school, and campus communities. We hope you will join us to see how you and your library can move from nice to necessary.
