In 2008, Memorial Libraries embarked on its’ first digital humanities project. Come learn about our Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) supported resource, Lasting Remembrance: Newfoundland, Labrador and War. The commemoration project brings together significant digitized documents, the use of geographic information systems, a searchable database of soldiers and library resources to help researchers studying the First World War. Learn about the successes and pitfalls the project has faced, considerations for your own digital projects and next steps for this project.

Outcomes:
– Learn about the project; the challenges and opportunities with a system-wide collaborative project (including community engagement)
– Discover new ways for libraries to create resource platforms and publishing opportunities
