Wow! This is a very exciting time to be working in public services. As circulation and reference statistics decrease, we are in a position of reimagining and redefining what happens at the public service desk. Come listen to members of the Ontario Council of University Libraries Public Services Renewal community share their innovative ideas and creative services that are focused on responding to the many changes in a public service area. As our user needs change, so do our services. Whether it is designing new marketing initiatives, developing programs for improving customer service, building community partnerships, or circulating non-traditional items, this panel presentation will inspire, engage and motivate. Participants will leave the session with a list of ready to implement programs and services perfect for any public service environment. When it comes to public services, the OCUL Public Service community is all in.

Outcomes:
Participants will be exposed to new strategies that they can subsequently test out within their public service environment.
Through exposure to a wide variety of service provision methods, participants’; ability to discern and evaluate good public service practices.
Participants will be able to compare and evaluate the public services provided in their public service area with those explored in the presentation.
